一、路街地名譯音依據行政院九十一年八月二十二日院臺教字第0910042331號函備查「中文譯音使用原則」及內政部九十一年九月十九日台內地字第0910012037號函規定，以通用拼音為準。
二、標示地名及路街名時，所有譯音符號皆不必加注聲調。
三、地路街名英文譯寫格式，採第一個字母大寫，其餘字母以小寫連接，兩字間不空格亦不以短劃連接，例如板橋為Banciao，而非Ban ciao或Ban-ciao。
四、使用u（e）i與i（o）u拼音時，一律用全寫，不採用縮寫，並去除括號例如淡水為Danshuei，而非Danshui或Danshu（e）i；斗六為Douliou，非Douliu或Douli（o）u。
五、路、街名中具方向性或序數性意義者，統一採意譯，意譯用英文語言，例如Jinshan S. Rd（金山南路），Wunhua 1st Rd.（文化一路）。
六、路、街名中，若有外國人名或特定詞者，以沿用為原則。例如Roosevelt Rd.（羅斯福路）、Taichung Rd.（台中路）、Shindian Rd.（新店路）。
七、行政層級英譯為：省Province；市City；縣County；鄉、鎮Township；區District；村、里Village；鄰Neighborhood。
八、地名採用音譯，例如馬公市為Magong city，而風景區或據點採用意譯，例如雙心石滬Twin hearts stone weir。
九、附澎湖地區鄉里及風景區域名稱中英對照表。
十、澎湖縣Penghu County 行政區劃名稱中英對照 ：鄉鎮市區別通用拼音為馬公市 Magong City ， 湖西鄉 Husi Township ， 白沙鄉 Baisha Township， 西嶼鄉 Siyu Township ， 望安鄉 Wangan Township ， 七美鄉 Cimei Township 。
